I’ve many experience of getting tricked by petrol pump operators and I must blame myself because it all happens because of my impatience.
Last Sunday while returning from a Movie I went to a HP petrol station in Guindy to load GAS. I asked that guy to fill it for 1000 bucks. He filled it for 300 bucks and he had cut it and then when i told him it is for 700 bucks he again filled it.
After making the payment i started the car and while driving i realized the tank indicator was only half way. I know i was tricked I was so angry and i wanted to get back and show my piece of mind.
Then i proceeded back home because;
- I was almost near to my house.
- Time was 3 AM.
- I was not sure if i can get justice form these guys.
For me this is happening for Nth number of time and still I’m not learning from my mistake.
Same thing happened in Bharat Petrolium in Tirupathi. But that time my friend Suresh was there and he took the pump operators for a toss and they immediately accepted their mistake and filled the balance.
Now the question i’ve is how can we prove it that the operator has not filled to the value we have paid. If someone can give me the hack i can give back to operators who trick customers.
So these are the Petrol Stations that is known for cheating;
- IOC Station ECR Kottivakkam.
- HP Station near to Guindy Railway Station.
I always fill the tank full, so that I could avoid this problem. I can easily find out if the guy cheats.
Now a days this became very common in all petrol bunks…. i have experienced the same wen i was in 12th std.. wen i went to fill the fuel,they played the game and i noticed, only after returning home as fuel indicator was nil…
from tht time onwards i used to check wel while fillin fuel in bunks…
after this incidents, got aware abt tis thiefs.. and i used to fight wit operators if they play the game in filling the tank…. almost in most of the bunks, i did fight wit them and got my fuel back…
I need to eradicate tis things, as many innocent peoples r getting betrayed… if u have any solution, den pls share wit all.. we can take the step and save the innocent peoples from betraying, in future…

I am Ramesh from Tiruchengode, namakkal district, Tamilnadu, India. I am cheated at Lorry owners assocation bunk, Erode road,TIRUCHENGODE today. I want to share this bad experiance.
I have asked the attendant to fill tank of my car. Initially it was RS 228/- I have noticed this and asked him to reset. I have asked him to fill the tank until autocut off . When he started filling he diverted my attention regarding the silver tint sunfilm in my car. When I answering his queries, the tank filled and started to fill the tank by pulling the pump slightly. I have asked him to stop. Note that I have asked him to fill upto autocut off only. The bill showed Rs 1550/-. Usually it will take only 37 ltrs of diesel and this time it took 43 ltrs. I thought he filled additional diesel by pulling the pump outside. After few kilometers of driving, my on board computer tells the real story. I have realised that i have duped by Rs 228/- of diesel. He never reset the pump, before filling my tank.
So next time you enter a petrol station, be alert so that you are not duped. He may try to divert your attention. Be alert…
